The Swamp-Dwellers Attack?
The majority of Americans are reviewing the comments from Senators Corker and Flake and thinking, “What took you so long?” Others, like Huckabee and Bannon, and the president’s unwavering loyalists, see their scheduled departures as the promised swamp draining.
Pundits and politics-watchers understand that this is uncharted territory to have electeds break ranks and unapologetically condemn the leader of their own party. But, many have often excused the behaviors of the current president as “unconventional” and have suggested that his unconventional behavior is what voters wanted. Really?
Whether you voted for or against the current president, ask yourself, would YOU hire, work for, marry or associate with someone, who is described as: ”debasing our nation;” lacks “the desire to be competent;” is called “reckless, outrageous and undignified;” has “flagrant disregard for truth and decency;” not a role model for children;” and “has great difficulty with the truth?” No competent or responsible person would, nor would they condone such behavior from a distance.
This is all unprecedented and many say, unpresidential. These qualities, are also unbecoming a Commander-in-Chief. At least two Republicans have boldly stepped out, and boldly align with some of their Democratic colleagues.
Senators Flake and Corker will, no doubt, feel more wrath in 140 characters from the White House and the loyalists for the next 14 or so months. Question is, what side of decency will the remaining electeds and party loyalists land?
