Re-open Government Now!

America is hurting. North, south, east and west, we have households that are not getting any income. Income that was expected. Income that was flowing normally for them. Not now. The salaries lost arent because of the employees malfeasance, but the malfeasance of the very government that withholds money from those paychecks that now have $0.00 on the payee amount line.

Missing from the #TrumpShutdown conversations, though, are the number of contractors impacted. Where’s the outrage about the number of businesses losing revenue from government workers, who are at home or pinching pennies, since they have to work without pay (restaurants; dry cleaners; small shops; salons and barbershops; etc.).

What about the transportation systems that are losing commuter revenue? And what happens to the government agency payouts owed to Americans - and services being suspended because of a suspended government.

Government workers will get their pay, once the government reopens, but there are millions of people who won’t. And it’s costing the government $1,000,000,000.00 (1billion) per week.

The numbers are stunning and should prompt people who are impacted or feel any sense of compassionate towards those impacted, to use these numbers:

Read more on the approval/disapproval numbers from the American people.

Read more on contractors that are the solution to how government is made “smaller”. We just outsource public services to private contractors who won’t pay people when government shuts down. Humans who are forced to work without pay or, shamefully, furloughed.

Make donations or provide compassionate support to those impacted. Calling elected officials and demanding they reopen government will be most helpful to them.

I invite you to take 2 to 5 minutes for a glimpse of what I think about issues of the day. Nonpartisan, yet, some might not agree - just don’t be disagreeable.
