Pray and ACT much?
We do, as the president says, have a “mental health problem at the highest level”, and it resides in the minds of our elected officials and the Americans who remain complacent with the status quo those electeds practice — to our collective detriment. What needs to stop is the Republitea political pandering to the NRA and leaning on the “thoughts and prayers” solution always handed down by Republiteas.
That comstant drumbeat of denial disrespects present and future victims. And to have the attorney general of Texas, Ken Paxton, suggest the solution to gun violence in churches is to have more guns in church — who in right mind says that?
90 people lose their lives to shootings in America daily, yet we don’t see it that way.
Senator Ted Cruz’s response criticizes the urging by the media, and others, for a political response to a horrible shooting, yet demanded political actions when foreign-born terror happens. Th hypocrisy he and his ilk perpetrate is appalling.
The government can do more and chooses not to — even as their employer, the American people, recommends that they do.
How does the 2nd amendment defend civilian access to military style weapons? Who needs armor-piercing bullets to hunt animals — are they wearing armor? Who needs bullet-proof vests when they are tracking down deer or other wildlife? How can one use the 2A to validate anti-aircraft weapons in every home? There is no justification for any of this, and even the laws in place aren’t being implemented.
Those in the military, who failed to note the latest Texas terrorists act (people forget the mass murders of our past which eclipse any government-certified terror acts), which gave way for him to buy a gun, should be punished for that violation, too. Folks who mourn the recent 26 dead, probably forgot the 24 killed in the Texas Luby Restaurant murders) Why can’t the Bureau of ATFE have a national database of where guns are? We allow this lunacy by being complacent and believing the lies from this government. The history of gun violence cannot be ignored. Stand up and stay vigilant. Call to demand change today — and daily. 202–224–3121. The majority of america want better control — don’t believe the mentally ill politicians who suggest otherwise.
