For the Racist-Adjacent…

All people who march WITH (or defend) people who chant hate-speech are racists or racism-enablers. Those who defend policy makers who use their platforms to support racism and racist policies are complicit. And your silence in those circles is the equivalent to consenting to it. And as soon as some wake up and condemn the hate speech, they get shouted down by those who once supported them. Sadly, too, is the erroneous defense that they think is facts — clueless in the very historical knowledge they claim to defend. As was hilariously said on SNL News, by Colin Jost, if the racists don’t like Black people, wait until the moon turns the sun black on Monday (funny).

Your support tells your story. That is the Republitea storyline — recall how President Obama was labeled based upon the words of a pastor? How do you march, vote or allow people in your “circle” to spew hatred and then say, oh, that’s not me, thought — I’m “alt-lite”? Appalled by the latest bigoted behaviors? They condemn it and stop doing so with an asterisk — racism should never get a pass -#RacismIsTerrorism. Why is there this debate about hate speech vs free speech. We know and SHOULD reject hate/racism/bigotry. Why condone it as a right when it infringes on the safety and security of others?

We need to hope that the world doesn’t lump America into the bigot basket — but that’s probably too late. Respected magazine, Der Spiegel, has some thoughts on American President, the racist.
